NCAA Should Pay Players
There are many reasons that collegiate athletes should be payed for playing for their school. For one, the amount of revenue they bring in their games is incredible. We are looking at Billions of dollars each year for the college they play for. Along with the money they bring in is the amount of time they clock in. Student athletes are “working” almost every day a.k.a. practicing. Once all the practicing is over they hit the field, were all the real income comes from. They raise money for the school while competing in the games, they raise money for the broadcasters that stream the game, and they also set up free advertisement for the college. For example, if a college is doing successful in a certain sport, everyone’s first choice will be that college creating more and more money for the college when the students commit. It is proven that the annual NCAA basketball tournament “March Madness” produces around 6 billion dollars for the NCAA itself. If the college cannot afford to pay the students then the actual NCAA would have no problem. Without these college athletes schools would use billions of dollars, whether from games or to the amount of people that attend the school. Along with players quitting from not receiving pay, a lot of company’s would lose their business, sports commentators to Magazines that write about the players, would all take a hit.
